A very pretty walk and a variation on the usual walk I have done from Thursley. We cross heathland, pass through some very pretty villages before ascending Gibbett Hill to Hindhead Common for lunch (NT cafe). We then descend deep into the Devil's Punchbowl on our return to Thursley. There is one long steep ascent up Gibbett Hill (hence the S) which will be taken slowly and it is worth it for the views at the top.
Meet Hankley Common MOD CP SW of Guildford. Turn off A3 signed Thursley (before Hindhead Tunnel). Go through Thursley Village to T Jct. Turn R and after 1/2 mile, L at chevrons into MOD road. The CP is 1/2 mile on L before the barrier.

Leeds to Ulcombe

We head out through the outer grounds of Leeds Castle before heading south where we pick up the Greensands Way which takes us to lunch at The Pepperbox Inn nr Ulcombe. The route continues along the Greensand Way before returning via Chegworth and the Leeds Castle grounds.
Meet at car park by St. Nicholas Church, Leeds. From M20 exit at junction 8 and follow the signs for Leeds Castle, go past Leeds Castle and after 0.5 miles immediately past St Nicholas Church there is the car park on the left. Warning the turning is just after a sharp left bend and the entrance is obscured until almost level.

From A21 going S take A26 through Tunbridge Wells then A267 to Frant. Park around the Village Green

From Wych Cross follow the A22 towards Nutley. CP is on the L approx. 2 miles further on. Ignore East CP opposite.

We walk from Teston along the Medway to Wateringbury and then head north to East Malling. Lunch is at the King and Queen or sandwich on seats outside or churchyard. We then make our way back with tremendous views to the North Downs via Barming and then follow the river back to Teston.
Meet at Teston Country Park CP - fee payable. At Teston village, turn right from A26 onto B1263. CP is on right after railway.

Meet From the A25 turn N onto the B2032. After more than a mile turn L onto the B3033. Use the 2nd CP on L opp. cricket ground. Pay and display for non-National Trust members.

After 0.5 mile very sharp L turn onto Ham Rd (narrow with passing places), 0.6 mile L, 0.3 mile R following old signs to pub. Satnav may direct you through Faversham on shorter but complicated route.

Try something different. Section 4 of the London Loop. Just the right thing for a November Sunday.A linear walk with a fair amount of climbing, rewarded by some splendid views. The route passes through commons, gardens and nature reserves. There are numerous pubs along the way. There are public toilets and a restaurant at Addington Hills. Lunch or picnic there. Return by Bus 403 from Hamsey Green to Sanderstead, then train to East Croydon and tram or bus to Bromley.
Meet in front of the Hayes Station. Car-free or park at the Station Approach Car Park (BR2 7EN).

By popular request, a repeat of the 2014 exploration of the River Ravensbourne and its tributaries following the Chaffinch Brook, Pool River, Ravensbourne and Deptford Creek to its confluence with the Thames and a rendezvous with Peter the Great. We return via the new Greenwich Reach Swing Bridge, the Cutty Sark, Greenwich Park and Blackheath to finish our walk at Lewisham Station. Lunch will be at Lewisham Town Centre where there is a range of eating opportunities.
