A bluebell walk

People who took part in this walk last year were much impressed by the acres of bluebells. Unfortunately many people missed the walk due to traffic problems. This is shortened version of last years walk. From Challock the walk passes through Kings Wood - one of the largest woods in Kent - to lunch at The Flying Horse in Boughton Lees. Return to Challock is via Eastwell Park and Challock Manor.
Meet in the Challock Memorial Hall car park. Approaching Challock from Charing along the A252, turn right in Challock into Church Lane. Take the first left after a few hundred yards into Blind Lane -road sign is missing- and the Challock Memorial Hall is on the right.

From Hildenborough we pass thru farmland, onto Kiln Wood before joining the Greensand Way at Shipbourne Common and on to Dunk's Green. Lunch in the Kentish Rifleman or picnic on the green. After lunch we take a loop in the direction of Plaxtol then on to Shipbourne passing the Church before heading back through the Hamlet of Coldharbour to Hildenborough. A fairly flat walk with a few stiles.

The CP is on the left (east) of the A2044, Woodhatch Road, south of Redhill/Reigate. No toilets.

Fairly flat walk with some dodgy stiles where hedgegrowth also needs pruning. A mixture of sheep and orchards to be seen together with pleasant countryside and byways.

A lovely woodland walk, mostly flat with one hilly area in the morning, we head north towards Copped Hall, then head south on the Forest Way towards Epping Forest Conservation Centre for picnic lunch where a tea hut, pub and toilets are available. We continue south towards the Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge before returning to the CP via Connaught Water.
From M11 exit J5 onto Chigwell Lane/A1168 towards Loughton. At roundabout take 2nd exit onto Goldings Hill/A121. Ignoring Goldings CP on left, Broadstrood CP is further up on the right. May be able to arrange a lift for 1 or 2 people.

Otford to Shoreham - and back.

In the morning we walk to Penshurst where we can stop for own coffee. Then continue on to Chiddingstone for lunch, the pub is being renovated at present so it is advisable to bring a packed lunch, or possibly use one of the two tea rooms. Then back to Leigh. Lots of good views, woodland, water and open fields. Parts can be very muddy depending on weather conditions.
Meet around the Green. When we did the walk out lots of spaces were taken, so it would be advisable to car share where possible.

We zigzag from Teston Bridge via the Tutsham Estate and Shingle Barn Farm to meet the Greensand Way at Buston Manor. Continuing along the Greensand Ridge, we eventually turn off over the top of the ridge to lunch at Loose (pub, picnic). After lunch we return by a shorter route through East Farleigh, eventually following the Medway back to Teston Bridge.
Meet Teston Bridge Country Park . Parking Charge £2, WC at start. After driving through Wateringbury on A26, turn right onto B2163 Teston Lane at bottom of hill. Car park is on your right, almost immediately.

A walk in a familiar area but using one or two less familiar paths. We walk over the Iron Age Hill Fort in Squerryes Park via High Chart and Scearn Bank to lunch at the Royal Oak, Crockham Hill. In the afternoon our route takes us past the former site of the Westerham Brewery and the remains of Weardale Manor back to Hosey Common.

Leave Westerham on the A25. Turn left just before The Grasshopper and go uphill. Turn left where the road splits and meet in the car park on the left hand side.
