By popular demand, I am repeating the walk that I led last year, hopefully with better weather. A long (8.5m), easy morning with the only uphill climb being out of Bluewater. Then its down and along the Thames and Darent to Dartford for lunch. There are many pubs and cafes or you can catch one of the many buses back to the car. The afternoon is a bit more strenuous after we leave the Darent Valley and climb over undulating country back to Bluewater.
NOTE EARLY START TIME. Meet at the far North edge of the Winter Garden CP (in front of M&S), near the round-about and away from the shops.

We see some of Thanet's poorer rural and industrial parts, walking through the hinterland of Ramsgate and Broadstairs via the beautiful St Peters village and Northdown Park to lunch at the White Swan at Reading Street. Then we move on to tourist Thanet - its more affluent face. Joining the coast path at the North Foreland lighthouse we visit four of Broadstairs' seven bays. Then we pass Ramsgate's beaches, marina and port as we follow the coast back to Pegwell Bay.
Meet in large public car park approximately 100m North East of the Viking Ship Hugin. There are toilets behind the Viking Ship Café which should be open from 10am.

A long morning (11 miles), needing an early start. From Bewl Water via the Sussex Border Path to Flimwell then through Bedgebury Forest and north to Goudhurst for a late lunch (picnic recommended). Afternoon more open, via Riseden to the Lamberhurst bypass and the long way back to the cars. Not too muddy on the walk-out, even after heavy rain.

A very pretty walk and a variation on the usual walk I have done from Thursley. We cross heathland, pass through some very pretty villages before ascending Gibbett Hill to Hindhead Common for lunch (NT cafe). We then descend deep into the Devil's Punchbowl on our return to Thursley. There is one long steep ascent up Gibbett Hill (hence the S) which will be taken slowly and it is worth it for the views at the top.
Meet Hankley Common MOD CP SW of Guildford. Turn off A3 signed Thursley (before Hindhead Tunnel). Go through Thursley Village to T Jct. Turn R and after 1/2 mile, L at chevrons into MOD road. The CP is 1/2 mile on L before the barrier.

Meet in Shipwrights Arms CP from 9.30am for coffee, toilets and to order lunch. M2 to J6, L onto A251 towards Faversham. After 0.5 mile L at T jct onto A2. After 1.1 mile R at r'about onto B2045 towards Oare. After 1.2 mile R at T jct onto Oare Rd. After 0.5 mile very sharp L turn onto Ham Rd (narrow with passing places), 0.6 mile L, 0.3 mile R following old signs to pub. Satnav may direct you through Faversham on shorter but complicated route.

A walk of about 10miles along the River Medway to lunch at Golden Green. Returning via fields and orchards. Probably muddy but no hills.
Meet on the south side of the bridge over the River Medway on the B2162 adjacent to Teapot Island. Not the bridge in Yalding village. Park alongside the canal (free) or in the car-park on the south side of the river (£2 per day). If the latter, please check car-park closing time.

From Hothfield Heathlands towards the pretty village of Pluckley for an early lunch, then onto Egerton, returning on the Stour Valley Walk via Little Chart. A few gentle inclines with some fine views.
Meet Hothfield Heathlands CP. Leave M20 at J8 and follow A20 towards Lenham/Charing. After approx 11 miles turn R towards Hothfield, CP is a few metres up road on left.
