A figure of eight taking in views over the Darent Valley. In the morning we pass Dunstall Priory on our way to Romney Street, returning via Upper Austen Lodge. After a pub or picnic lunch in Shoreham we follow the Darent to Lullingstone Park, climb to the west of the valley, visit Shoreham's famous white cross (commonly believed to commemorate a second world war air crash on the spot but in fact constructed in 1921) and return via Home Farm.

Meet in small CP beside St James Church. Traveling W on the A25 from Dorking, turn L into Raikes Lane about a mile after passing through Wotton. Turn L again into Abinger Lane. CP is about a mile on the R.

Meet in Firle village car park. Take turning off A27 east of Lewes signed 'Firle' towards the village and turn left into the car park almost opposite the 30 mph sign. If you go past the Ram Inn into the village you have gone too far.

Meet Millenium Hall CP. Leave M20 at J8 and take A20 towards Lenham. After 7 miles turn R into Forstal Road, signed Lenham Heath, Egerton. After 1.5 miles turn R into Vicarage Lane. Shortly turn R into Egerton Road. Continue through Stonebridge Green to reach Egerton. Pass church on R and at The George turn L into New Road and immediately R into Elm Close. You will see the CP below.

The walk starts with an easy climb out of Bluewater. We then walk along the rim, passing a 12th C castle before gently descending to the Thames. We then turn W, along the river, under the QE Bridge to the confluence of the river Darent, where we join the Darent Valley Path. Along the path reaching Dartford about 12.30 for lunch or picnic in the park or return to Bluewater by one of the many buses. This is an easy mostly flat walk once we reach the Thames.
Note early Start time. Meet at the far North edge of the Winter Garden car park (in front of M&S) near the round-about and away from the shops. You can combine this walk with the one this afternoon to make a circular walk of 14.25 miles

An invigorating walk before some retail therapy

This is a very different walk from this mornings. we continue along the Darent Valley Path through rural countryside (except when passing under the A2 and M25). We leave the DVP on the outskirts of Darenth and start to climb out of the Darent valley then a short descent to the Green Street Green road and then a long climb through a housing estate on the edge of Darenth and a wood which gives this walk an M category. Once at the top its downhill all the way to Bluewater.
Meet in the park behind the library/museum in Market Street. If you are joining this afternoon please tell the walk leader. I suggest you park your car at Bluewater and come to Dartford by bus. Alternatively you can make this a car free walk.

The walk starts on the Wealdway going south west towards Fordcombe and providing fine views of the Weald. It continues until joining the Forest Way and follows this route along the former railway embankment to Groombridge. Lunch at The Junction Inn or picnic on the village recreation ground opposite. Afterwards we return past Groombridge Place and then follow the Tunbridge Wells Circular Walk into Speldhurst.
Meet at beginning of Furzefield Ave which is a long no through residential road at edge of village. If approaching village from Southborough to Speldhurst passing David Soloman's house then follow sign on right to Post Office and local store. Shortly after passing the store/PO bear Left on the residential road indicated as No Through Road on the old white signpost. Park in this wide residential road.

We walk through Otford Mount, Romney Street and West Kingsdown Golf Course. There will be a stop with a pub for lunch but for drinks only. Please bring a picnic.
Meet in CP, a short way down Shacklands Road off Badgers Mount roundabout.
